Official statistics do not count insurance agents and brokers separately. They belong to the sector “Finance and insurance”, which had 81,464 companies in Germany in 2024 (2.3% of all companies).
The official count covers only companies with turnover above €22,000 or with employees; all businesses in Germany are estimated at about 6,000,000.
